PERSONAL TRAINING

Become a Trainer

Are you interested in taking your fitness and wellness knowledge to the next level? Do you want to help others reach their fitness goals? University Recreation offers a semester long training program to prepare students to a take nationally recognized personal training exam.

The Personal Training Prep Course is a free in-house training program designed to prepare students who are interested in becoming a personal trainer at Northeastern University. This program is a combination of lecture based and hands-on learning. The students will meet once a week for 9 weeks. Participants will learn the fitness fundamentals required of fitness professionals. Lectures will cover material on human anatomy, physiology, program design, biomechanics, exercise technique, and more. The course itself serves as part of the interview process and completion of the course does not guarantee hire. Upon completion of the course chosen students will be asked to interview for the Personal Trainer position.

Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm located in the SquashBusters Team Room. Additional workshops may be held on weekends.

Must be in good academic standing, attend class weekly and have at least 1 year left on campus.

The personal training class sign up is closed for the Spring 2024 semester and will reopen for the Fall 2024 semester course in September.
