Participation is open to all current Northeastern University students!

How much does it cost to participate in intramural sports?

Intramural Sports are FREE to play! There is a $20 fully refundable forfeit deposit that must be submitted when creating a team – but there is no additional fee to participate in Intramural Sports.

I’ve lost my NU Husky ID Card, may I still participate?

All student participant must have their valid Husky ID card to check in for each game. Additionally, entrance into University Recreation and Athletic facilities will require you to swipe your card to enter. If you have lost your ID – for any reason, you must get a replacement before you will be permitted to play intramural sports. What employment opportunities are available through Intramural Sports?

When we are hiring Intramural Sports Officials the job will be posted to the University’s Workday platform. To apply for this position, please search for “Intramural Sports Official” in the Workday system. We hire both part-time and work-study positions, with priority given to those students with work-study, prior officiating experience, and excellent availability.

What is the difference between Intramural and Club Sports?

Intramural sports involve competition between Northeastern University students on the Northeastern University’s campus. Club sports offer students the ability to compete against teams from other universities on regional and national levels. Students can – and are encouraged – to participate in both programs but please note that they are separate departments.

How can I find out about upcoming Intramural Sports leagues, activities, and special events?

The most up-to-date information is available on Northeastern’s IMLeagues Page. Opt-in to receive updates on new sport registrations along with other Intramural Sport updates. How may I contact the Intramural Office?

What if we do not have enough players for our scheduled game?

If you know in advance that you cannot make your scheduled game time, please fill out the online Default Notification Form to notify us. We will contact your opponent and let them know you will be unable to play. Your team will be awarded a loss but there will be no negative impact on your forfeit deposit. Defaults must be submitted 24 hours prior to the start of your match. Please note that you can add players to your roster at any point in the season. Free Agents can also be found on IMLeagues in each sports section to help round out your roster.

How do I find out the status of my game due to weather conditions?

All weather updates will come through IMLeagues via text or email. We suggest making sure your phone number is up to date in IMLeagues and that you accept the text messages so that we can update you on late notifications due to weather.
